HD-1520A-AUG
GEN III 18 mm, Inverting AUTOGATED Image Intensifier Tube
The performance of an image intensifier lens is actually the ability to see as far as possible at night and to resolve as much detail as possible on the target.
This technical parameter was defined by the US Army and called FOM (signal-to-noise ratio X resolution = FOM). A high FOM has an image magnifier value between 2200 and 2800.
A low FOM value is between 960 and 1600. Generation 3 amplifiers provide the highest possible FOM.
The EU and US export authorities also use the definition of 'generation' and the FOM figures as a limiting factor for the export of night vision optical equipment and night vision equipment based on these amplifiers.
Low FOM, Generation 1 and Generation 2 image intensifiers can be exported in almost all countries, while high FOM amplifiers are strictly limited under military export rules.
Image intensifier-based night vision optical equipment is used for a variety of missions, such as use by soldiers, armoured vehicle drivers, snipers, surveillance systems and pilots.
Technical specification
HD-1520 AUG series is AUTOGATED 18mm, Gen III, Inverting Image Intensifier Tube. It is a high-gain, high-photosensitivity Image Intensifier Tube suitable for passive night vision systems and goggles.
The HD-1520 AUG consists of a high-efficiency (GaAs) extended red photo-cathode on an AVG glass input window; a micro-channel plate (MCP) current amplifier; and output Inverting fiber optic with P-43 phosphor screen.
The HD-1520 AUG has a high-voltage power supply which incorporates (ABC) automatic brightness control to provide a constant output image brightness as light levels varies. The power supply also provides (BSP) bright source protection and AUTOGATING feature to guard the tube against exposure to high levels of light.
The HD-1520 AUG is completely self-contained Image Intensifier Tube encapsulated within a hardsurface insulating
